This is a blog on our latest production, a trailer for the alpha test group for VR Action Game “Brazen Blaze”.
Might is Right
This project is in two parts, using full cinematic 3DCG in the beginning to experiment with the worldview.
We wanted to respect the game’s image while still incorporating cinematic themes and aspects to create a grand gesture and impact.

Each sound effect used in this scene have a different distance from the listener. This allows a viewer to feel the distance through both sound and visual.
The short story of “the protagonist destroying a statue symbolizing authorities” was based on the game’s nature of his ability to destroy anything on the map as well as his desire to become a president to change the world.
We focused on the build-up from the intense cut to the punch scene to convey the feeling of exhilaration from the concept of “destroy”.

As for the sound effects for destruction and gauntlets, the volume is peaked excessively on purpose to accompany the scene when it is the most fierce. We then distorted the sound, using an all-pass filter to delay the phase of the signal, making the sound clean cut like you see in many games recently.
A polished instinct.
The latter half of the trailer is mostly comprised of a mockup video as well as creators and details of the games combined with motion graphics.
We wanted to add in a taste of edge to represent the brutal nature of the game, while still maintaining the feel of a VR and Digital gaming space. The intention behind the graphics are to showcase the sporty feel you get from an ESports game.

Adding in fast paced messy expressions between cuts with impact was so that we could further push the idea of violence in Brazen Blaze.
The music was composed with the intention to create a rough sound and impression, using Trap EDM base, emphasizing the lower bass sounds.
The tone shifts to a more gesture-like distorted sound, with melodic phrase in between when the trailer introduced the staffs. This represents the ambition of the team as well as giving a sense of how grand the creation team is.
